The Minimum compliance mode setting controls how optional cookie categories behave by default for your visitors. These consent modes do not apply to the IAB Europe TCF implementation, its purposes will always require explicit consent regardless of this setting.
Cookie Control Premium uses geolocation to automatically upgrade to a stricter mode where required, even if a looser mode is set as the default.
Explicit Consent keeps optional categories switched off until a visitor actively opts in. This is required for GDPR and LGPD territories, such as the UK, Europe, and Brazil.
Implied Consent switches optional categories on automatically, so consent is assumed unless a visitor explicitly opts out. This auto-consent behaviour is only suitable for CCPA territories, such as California, where implied consent is sufficient, and cannot be selected for a geolocation within Europe.
No Consent disables the consent requirement entirely for optional categories.

Cookie categories can be automatically enabled via implied consent prior to user interaction within in the Cookies section of the Consent Banner page.

By default, all categories require explicit user consent before they are enabled.
When active, this creates an exception and the category is enabled by default. This should only be done if the category falls within a recognised consent exception such as statistical purposes, appearance settings, or emergency assistance.
